Your brain built the habit. It can build the way out.
A five-day intensive grounded in brain research and practical tools that keep working after you go home. With support for the people who love you, too.
Led by Chris Hughes and Dallen MinerNext intensive: November 10 to 14For men, limited to 15 per intensive

When are you thinking?
Each intensive is for men and limited to 15 participants. No commitment, this just helps us help you.
IThe pattern
Most people have tried to stop. The approach was the problem.
If you have made the promise before and ended up back in the same place, you are not the exception, and you are not broken.
A habit that has run for years wears a groove in the brain. Every time it runs, the groove gets a little deeper, and the next time gets a little easier. Promising yourself it won't happen again does nothing to the groove. It only asks you to stand at the edge of it by willpower, every day, forever.
You found out. Now you are trying to understand it.
Very often the first person looking for help is not the one who is struggling. If that is you, this page was written for you too.
A habit that has run for years wears a groove in the brain. That does not excuse it, and it is not your fault. It does explain why promises have not held, and why willpower alone keeps failing. It also means the pattern can change, with the right work and the right support around it.
II
A different premise
Your brain changes based on what you repeatedly do.
That is how the habit formed, and it is also the way out. Addiction in Remission turns published brain research into specific practices you do during the intensive and keep doing at home, so the old loop loosens and a new path takes its place.
Weaker with disuse. The loop you stop feeding loosens.
Stronger with practice. The path you repeat becomes the easy one.
IIIThe six-point model
Six waypoints, practiced together, are the structure of the intensive.
Six areas of practice that help the brain heal
Each area is a place where specific, tangible practice changes how the brain responds. Worked on together, they strengthen the ability to resist urges and make the new path the easy one.
The free guide names all six. Each comes with one practice you can start this week, in plain English.

For the person at home
The person who loves you often has no idea how to help. When you register, your spouse or partner receives materials of their own by email, and more while you are at the intensive, so you both start from the same page.
You will not attend the intensive, but you are not left out. When they register, you receive materials of your own by email, and more while they are at the intensive, so you know what they are learning and what to expect when they come home.
Every consultation is with Chris or Dallen, not a sales rep.

In their own words
From participants in ReConnection, the retreat and intensive this team also leads. Shared from their video testimonials.
The next day he told me, "Your countenance looks different. It looks lighter. You're smiling more." And so it took a burden off of me.
Participant, after a one-on-one and 360 review
I was able to just address those things that I was intimidated to talk to a therapist about. It will be uncomfortable, honestly, but that's what we need.
Participant
Every day has just built on itself. I feel like I'll look back and say, that's where I went from going this direction to that direction.
Participant
It's deeper than what you would expect. You'll feel the depth of healing that happens here, around people who feel the exact same as you.

What people usually ask first
What partners usually ask first
Can I book a consultation even if they are not ready?
Yes. You can book one to ask your own questions, understand the intensive, and talk through how to bring it up. The intensive itself is for men who choose to come, so that decision has to be theirs.
Is there support for me?
Yes. You receive your own materials by email when they register, and more during the intensive, so you know what they are learning and what to expect when they come home. You can also book a consultation for yourself.
What if this has happened before?
That is common, and it is often why partners lose hope. The difference here is the work: specific practice that reshapes the habit, and follow-up that continues after the five days end.
Who is the intensive for?
Men who want to change a habit that keeps pulling them back. Partners and family members do not attend, but they get materials of their own and can book a consultation.
Is this a 12-step program?
No. We respect what 12-step groups do for many people, and some people use both. Our starting point is different: we focus on agency, and on specific practices that help the brain change.
Is this therapy?
The intensive is an education and personal development program led by trained professionals. It does not replace therapy, and it works well alongside it. If ongoing counseling would help afterward, we can connect you with it.
What does it cost?
It depends on the level of follow-up you choose. We walk through pricing on the free consultation, along with whether the intensive is the right fit.
When is the next intensive?
The next one is November 10 to 14, 2026. In 2027: January 26 to 30, February 23 to 27, and April 27 to May 1. Each runs Tuesday through Saturday, is for men, and is limited to 15 participants. Not sure which fits? Pick "Not sure yet" and we will help you decide on your consultation. The location is shared on your consultation.
Is it private?
Yes. Consultations are one on one and confidential, emails come from a discreet address, and groups are small. What is shared in the room stays in the room.
Can my spouse or partner be involved?
Yes. Your spouse or partner receives materials of their own by email after you register, and more during the intensive, so they know how to support you when you return. The intensive itself is for participants only.
What happens on the consultation?
About 30 minutes with Chris or Dallen. You talk about what has been tried, what needs to change, and whether the intensive fits. If it is not the right fit, they will tell you and point you somewhere better.
